Lucky Wakes
I've been pretty lucky in small ways. But these small ways are wonderful. If they didn't happen, I would be in big or simply distressing trouble.
There were two mornings which found me very tired and sleeping through all my alarms, set about 5 minutes apart. My eyes eventually opened effortlessly without the assistance of any alarm at 8:15am on both days. And it was just enough time for me to run off to work!
How crazy is that? So thank you God, guardian angel, the Universe, or whoever you may be. I suppose I am only human and shouldn't have the ability or the right to know who you actually are.
Now, there is also another way to look at this. I am only human. Only one person in this tapestry of life in this big grid of a world in an even larger ocean of a universe.
Therefore, what I do or don't do, in my small way, affects others and that is the more important issue at hand. The poor little children who will get a half-baked lesson because of my tardiness. The hardworking production folks who have to wait for a late diva. All that would simply be unfair to them, and selfish of me.
So the universe doesn't and won't ever revolve around me. My lucky wakes are because of all these folks and situations that deserve to be respected. That's all. Well, I'm still glad and grateful for the lucky wakes.
